The Silence of the Knee

215 days since injury
153 days since surgery

I wasn’t too concerned with my knee clicking, as this happened after my last ACL reconstruction and turned out to be nothing.

Still, I mentioned it to my physio Matthew at Jam Physio during my visit to England after three months. He suspected it was caused by tightness in the quad tendon, patellar tendon, and/or quad muscle. Something was catching behind the kneecap on the lateral side.

After some strong massage, while actively bending and straightening, we had silence… Matthew stopped the click!

Mentally, it feels good to get rid of that noisy reminder. I know that it was not a problem and it didn’t cause pain, but it was a little signal that my knee was not quite right.

Apart from that, Matthew checked my progress and guided me through a few exercises in the gym. We focused on hip control during single-leg squats and balance.

I will have another session this week with Matthew, and next is a visit to my surgeon Mr Barkatali for an MRI scan and checkup.
