ACL Reconstruction Surgery Details

On 5th September 2023, I ruptured my ACL in a football game.

I went under the knife and had ACL reconstruction surgery on 7th November 2023. It was, at the time of writing, a success and I am well on the way to recovery.

Here are some of the finer details of the surgery:

• ACL Reconstruction – reconstructed with a Quad Tendon graft. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) applied to the graft. Previous reconstruction tibial tunnels were reused, and a new femoral tunnel. Internal graft brace applied.
  
• Medial Meniscus Posterior Horn Vertical Tear – repaired with 3 x FibreStitch implants.
  
• Lateral Meniscus Posterior Horn Root – repaired with 2 x SutureTape sutures and fixed to the ABS button in the tibial ACL tunnel.
  
• Lateral Meniscus Body Radial Tear – repaired with an inside-out ZoneNavigator suture.
