Reflecting on Spain

371 days since injury
309 days since surgery

At the start of the year, I moved to Spain for a few months to continue my recovery. I had just started walking and still had a long way to go.

The time went by so fast. Spain is a beautiful country in every way; the people, the scenery, and the food!

I spent the first month or two mixing physio treatments and training sessions. As my knee grew stronger and the pain subsided, I continued with twice weekly training sessions only.

The team at Árvore Clinics are excellent, from the physios Ferran and Vicente, personal trainer Jose, to secretary Cristina (who is very patient with my lack of Spanish!).

I took a few videos during the sessions and recovery. I put them together as a bit of a reflection on the six months in Spain, and you can see the video at the top of this post.

I will be back to Spain next week and I am looking forward to starting up the training sessions with Jose again. It really makes a difference to have someone guide and motivate you at set times every week.

A couple of weeks ago I got back to kitesurfing and I have been running since June, but I know this journey is not yet over.

My goal is to be fitter and stronger than before… and that starts now!
